About the artist

Born in Mâcon on September 11, 1854, died in Paris on September 18, 1929, he is one of the painters of the neo-impressionist movement. He began at the Salon in 1880 where he exhibited until 1891. In 1884, he met Georges Seurat, who influenced his style, which was successively Symbolist, Impressionist, then Pointillist. In 1891, he exhibited at the Salon des Indépendants and in the art gallery "Le Barc de Boutteville", as well as in Brussels, at the Salons du Groupe des XX.
